Seconds count in an emergency and people count on Weston Hospital's Emergency Department to provide high quality, compassionate care. Weston Hospital's Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary care teams, and the leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.

  • Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of hire

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Prior (recent) ER experience

  • Acute care experience (Tele/stepdown/medsurg)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent walking from department to department; requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs., such as files, documents and computer printouts.

  • Work requires finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.

  • Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests; ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department directors, physicians and other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem-solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.

Personal protective equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
