Job description

Requisition ID:                       66281                          Title: Senior Software Engineer- Android

This role can be based out of Waltham, MA (Boston area) or Naples, FL.

Main Objective: Develop, support, and maintain high-end and innovative software applications that support Arthrex's mission of helping surgeons treat their patients better. Write high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.   Actively participates in software development and team ceremonies as a member of a cross functional software development team.

2.   Develops software features using established patterns and technology.

3.   Contributes to all aspects of the technology stack from client-side programming to developing and deploying back-end services

4.   Monitors applications for abnormalities and looks for areas to improve application availability and speed.

5.   Investigates and addresses bugs.

6.   Conducts code reviews, provides feedback, and suggests changes as needed.

7.   Continuously learn new frameworks, programming languages, and tooling.

8.   Collaborates effectively with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners, maintaining open and respectful communication.

9.   Occasional travel for training, meetings or trade shows may be required.

Skills:

    Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git.

    Android

    Programming experience with mobile language such as Kotlin

    Experience developing and supporting Android applications in a professional environment.   Experience with offline first applications is a plus

    Experience with Jetpack Compose / Coroutines

Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining success metrics for work performed

Education/Experience:

   High school diploma or equivalent required

   Bachelor's degree preferred

   5 years of professional experience
