Job description

Location: Hybrid, in our Boston office 3 days/ week.

This squad works closely with our US customers and partners.

About Blink

We're not just closing the digital divide; we're reconnecting distributed organisations, enabling seamless communication, and re-engaging employees like never before. Blink, a mobile-first employee experience platform, puts everything employees need right in their hands. With teams in Boston, London, and Sydney, we're making waves worldwide, partnering with industry leaders like Domino's, JD Sports and McDonald's.

We're forming our first engineering squad dedicated to accelerating Blink's growth in the United States. The US is a key market for us, and this team will play a direct role in building products and integrations that meet the needs of US customers.

As part of this squad, you'll work with a high degree of ownership, delivering outcomes end to end for US customers, including core integrations with partners such as Workday. The team will run its own roadmap while staying aligned with other engineering squads on shared initiatives and technical direction.

  • Developing solutions that make peoples everyday work lives easier.
  • Creating and maintaining Android apps.
  • Working with UI/UX designers and product designers to build a new approach to interacting with applications via a 'conversational UI'.
  • Debugging, Bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Writing clean, well-documented, maintainable code that is easy to read and modify while rapidly iterating and shipping.

About you

We're looking for someone who is ambitious and wants to develop in a fast-growing company. The successful candidate will be resourceful, inquisitive and a fast learner. You'll be able to pick up new concepts quickly and empathise with customer pain points. We're also looking for:

  • Proficient with Kotlin, common Android Frameworks and using reactive patterns.
  • Strong understanding of mobile databases.
  • Detailed knowledge of architectural patterns and how to apply them.
  • Skilled in writing responsive, accessible, and maintainable UI components.
  • Experience with unit and integration testing, continuous integration and delivery.
  • Examples of published apps you've worked on before.

You will have the opportunity to be part of something impactful, large-scale, and meaningful. Most importantly, you'll work for a company with a strong purpose, with an ambitious and supportive team embarking on a journey most start-ups can only dream of!

Benefits include:

  • A competitive salary.
