Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing superior in-store customer service and for merchandising specialty foods at large retail grocery stores. Be the driver behind continuous sales growth within specified region/customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize, rotate and stock shelves during each store visit. Ensure all authorized items are tagged and in the appropriate location and set to shelf standards.
  • Remove items that are out-of-code or not selling per customer guidelines.
  • Write customer orders using barcode scanner with Mobi software on mobile tablet
  • Work with store management to secure promotional space. Build displays and create themes to increase sales volume and support holiday/ special promotions.
  • Increase promotional effectiveness through strategic placement of appropriate POS material.
  • Develop strong relationships with key personnel at both customers’ store and regional levels. Investigate and resolve customer questions or complaints and provide courteous customer service.
  • Maintain proficient product knowledge.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory on a regular and frequent basis. Other duties as needed/assigned.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customer and their shoppers.
  • Supervision and scheduling of part-time and/or seasonal merchandising staff as needed.

Education and Experience Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and previous retail/grocery merchandising experience required.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required. Ability to travel frequently throughout assigned territory.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed. Sufficient product knowledge.
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organization skills
  • Ability to operate and maintain vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
  • Knowledge of proper product handling techniques to avoid injury. Ability to lift 50-75 pounds. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
