Job Summary

The stats operator plays an integral role in game-day entertainment by maintaining accurate depictions of baseball information on the stadium video board during Spring Training and Bradenton Marauders games.

Responsibilities

  1. Keep a detailed scorecard of the game, focusing on every pitch and play.
  2. Keep communication with MLB Stringer, media, broadcasters and other press box officials with updates regarding judgement calls, pitching changes, substitutions, first pitch, weather, etc.
  3. Coordinate approval of the official postgame report with the MLB Stringer prior to its transmission to the MLB statistician.
  4. Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Game Presentation.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
  2. Advanced knowledge of the Official Baseball Rules.
  3. Knowledge and ability to properly fill out a baseball scorebook.
  4. Ability to clearly communicate information and to effectively clarify Official Scoring Rules and scoring decisions, when necessary, to club officials and others.
  5. Requisite computer skills.
  6. Ability to work nights, weekends, and other flexible hours as game schedule demands.
