Job description

TITLE: Sr. Mixing & Blending Operator

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Mixing & Blending Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of mixing and granulation equipment to support production requirements while ensuring product quality, batch accuracy, and adherence to GMP, safety, and standard operating procedures. This role is responsible for preparing, operating, monitoring, and cleaning granulation equipment, supporting consistent process performance, maximizing equipment utilization, and contributing to operational efficiency within the manufacturing process. The position also supports troubleshooting, documentation accuracy, material handling, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure reliable production output and compliance with company and regulatory standards 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
  • Minimum 5 Years of general manufacturing experience, industrial manufacturing, nutraceutical/pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related industrial manufacturing experience, required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience with good documentation practices in a nutraceutical/pharmaceutical industry, required.
  • Must have flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and on short notice as required to support production demands, including the ability to work on day or night shift
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Food and Drug Administration (FDA), DEA and other regulatory and safety knowledge required.
  • Strong aptitude for math (e.g. good understanding of metric weights and measures), required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stage raw materials and prepare for pre- and post-mixing, pre- and post-blending.
  • Set-up and prepare raw material for pre-mixing and pre- blending processes, including but not limited to picking, collecting, screening, milling, weighing, scaling, granulating, milling, weighing, sifting and moving materials pre and post preparation for mixing and blending.
  • Responsible for setting up the working area and equipment pre and post processing.
  • Prepare equipment for mixing and blending, prepare the working area, clean the equipment, keep the working area clean and clear of debris, inspect rooms and equipment daily.
  • Conduct ongoing routine maintenance checks on all equipment in the plant.
  • Utilize Safety in the Workplace Best Practices
  • Follow MSDS instructions and compliance with the Lockout/Tagout program, when applicable.
  • Always adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Report any out-of-compliance items to the supervisor, immediately.
  • Maintain required Standards of Quality throughout the process and perform Quality Assurance checks during each step of the mixing/blending process.
  • Ensure the raw material is staged and picked according to specifications, ensure accurate weighing and scaling, check and doublecheck raw material item number, blend amount, weight, lot number and record information with precision and accuracy.
  • Update the Mixing Records for each batch record and update the Daily Mixing Log for each lot. Visually check for quality assurance and quality of blend throughout the process.
  • Perform operational tasks and equipment maintenance as needed, requested, directed or instructed by the supervisor/manager.
  • Able to assist with equipment preventive maintenance and operational tasks, as needed.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods with sustained focus, accuracy, and attention to detail while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

TRAINING:

  • Working knowledge of Safety in the Workplace Rules and Regulations, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, preferred.

 

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:

  • Experience using a manual and electric pallet jack required.

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours daily.
  • Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
