Job Summary:
The Mixing Technician is responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of ingredient batches in
accordance with production schedules and product specifications. This role involves operating industrial mixing
equipment, ensuring proper material handling, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP), 5S/6S standards, and safety protocols. The Mixing Technician plays a key role in maintaining product
quality and a clean, organized work environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor industrial mixing machines according to standard operating procedures and
production requirements.
• Prepare and measure ingredients accurately based on batch recipes or formulas.
• Load, mix, and discharge product batches while ensuring proper mixing times and consistency.
• Ensure all materials are properly labeled, placed, and stored in designated locations to prevent cross-
contamination and material loss.
• Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks on mixing equipment and report any malfunctions or
maintenance needs.
• Follow strict GMP guidelines and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the mixing and
ingredient staging areas.
• Comply with and actively participate in 5S/6S housekeeping procedures to sustain a clean, organized,
and efficient workspace.
• Accurately document lot numbers, weights, and quantities on batch records and production logs.
• Assist in inventory control by reporting material usage and discrepancies.
• Perform routine sanitation of equipment and work area in compliance with food safety standards.
• Adhere to all safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to ensure
product quality and production efficiency.
• Lift and move raw materials, product containers, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or mixing environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of GMP, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Familiarity with 5S or 6S workplace organization principles.
• Ability to perform basic math and read measurement devices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions accurately.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and twisting throughout the shift.
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs and operate lift equipment as needed.
• Capable of working in environments with varying temperatures (e.g., warm, humid, or refrigerated
areas).
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including hairnets, gloves, safety goggles, hearing protection, and
steel-toed footwear.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment for extended periods of time.
