Job description

MMC is looking for a Service Controls Project Manager for the Building Intelligencedivision based in Rochester, MN! MMC's Project Managers differentiate themselves and MMC through excellent project execution. They own their personal development and create strong relationships with our customers. They will develop solutions and sell the majority of their own work. Their skill level allows them to be effective partners to customers, building owners, field technicians, assistant project managers and senior project managers.
Essential Tasks for a Project Manager include:
  • Project Planning Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets. Establish project objectives, specifications, and deliverables.
  • Sales Own the relationship with the customer/owner/general contractor that they have established; Actively seek and develop new business relationships; Lead and participate in proposal generation and presentation.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, contractors, and vendors to execute project tasks efficiently Estimating and creating proposals for digital HVAC control systems.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication of project status, milestones, and any issues that may arise.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and create mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets. Work with accounting to book jobs/work orders, change orders and financially forecast jobs
  • Progress Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on project status, progress, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders
  • Subcontracts: Request bids from, award and manage subcontracts.
  • Labor Management: Management of building intelligence engineering and technician labor for submittals, material order, programming, graphic development and commissioning.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field; or equivalent experience.

Required Demonstrated Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, particularly in building automation or a related industry.
  • Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading/developing HVAC control:
    • Job plans and specifications.
    • Wiring and equipment schematics.
    • Control strategies.
    • Microsoft Office: Word and Excel, knowledge of Share Point a plus
  • Preferred experience:
    • Estimating digital HVAC control or related systems.
    • Managing installation of digital control or related systems.
    • Designing and applying digital control or related systems.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Visio drawing software.
