Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Project Manager to work with our Sales and Installation teams in successful completion of milking system installations on dairy farms. In this role, you will coordinate with our project team, dairy farmers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project completion on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with a background in dairy service, agricultural equipment, mechanical or electrical systems, and project coordination. We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual.
Reports To: Branch Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Works closely with our Project Team within the full project lifecycle of installation from site assessment to commissioning.
โ€ข Fully understands project plans and specifications and able to provide direction
โ€ข Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation with the project team
โ€ข Works ahead of the project to drive project coordination, manage deadlines
โ€ข Manage project inventory so nothing falls through the cracks including reviewing inventory deliveries for accurate orders and quality control-this will ensure there are no delays due to project inventory issues
โ€ข Learns and fully utilizes the internal company software system for efficiency
โ€ข Lead on-site team of subcontractors, ensuring adherence to plans and safety protocols, as directed
โ€ข Recruit for potential additional subcontractors
โ€ข Coordinate with vendors- delivery, setup and testing of systems
โ€ข Work with the Key Accounts Manager, Location Manager and Project Lead to ensure the customer receives necessary information, updates and issues are resolved.
โ€ข Supports the Key Accounts Manager in ensuring timely and accurate po's, bill payment approvals, and invoices
โ€ข Assist the Install team, as needed
โ€ข Work with Project team management to ensure all work complies with industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local regulations
โ€ข Attend farm project meetings
โ€ข Train farm staff on the use and maintenance of newly installed systems, as needed
โ€ข Provide post-installation support and troubleshooting, as needed
โ€ข Oversee the organization of project inventory on the farm and determine returns to vendor and restocks upon completion of project
โ€ข Work with the hygiene team to establish the hygiene business upon start up
โ€ข Willing to learn milking system updates and troubleshoot to assist the Service team as needed
โ€ข Travel required depending on project location; projects will be based out of the Zumbrota, Menomonie and Renner locations.
Qualifications (Skills Required)
โ€ข Experience as a dairy technician in service or installation, preferred
โ€ข Agriculture or Dairy milking equipment experience, preferred
โ€ข Bi-lingual (Spanish), preferred
โ€ข Strong communication skills, written and oral
โ€ข Superior organization and coordination skills
โ€ข Attention to detail
โ€ข Knowledgeable with MS Office suite, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Adobe
โ€ข Experience with RFI's, correspondence
โ€ข Driven with the ability to work without direct supervision
โ€ข Proficient reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
โ€ข Be able to manage customer expectations
โ€ข Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities.
โ€ข Able to work well under pressure and manage stressful situations with ease.
โ€ข Ability to work as a positive member of the MLS team fostering quality working relationships with other MLS team members.
Education / Experience:
2- or 4-year degree, preferred; High school diploma or GED equivalent; or 3 years' experience in dairy installation or service
