job summary:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Teams & Voice Migration Engineer for an 18-month project to support our enterprise telecommunications modernization initiative. In this role, you will lead the technical execution of migrating approximately 4,500 remaining enterprise telephone numbers from a legacy Mitel PBX platform over to Microsoft Teams Phone, AudioCodes analog gateways, and the Avaya platform. Working under the direction of the Project Manager and Telecommunications Manager, you will collaborate with Network Engineering, Field Technicians, Health Sciences/Clinical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless cutovers, accurate inventory mapping, and robust documentation.

responsibilities:

Execute migration cutovers for ~4,500 numbers; configure Microsoft Teams Phone (converting Mitel Hunt Groups into Teams Call Queues), AudioCodes analog gateways, and Mitel PBX systems.


Partner with departmental Points of Contact (POCs) to validate unknown numbers, reconcile legacy records across non-integrated systems (PBX, LDAP, billing), and map proper routing/line configurations.


Collaborate with specialized clinical and network teams to help design and implement the Avaya platform migration strategy for Health Sciences voice services.


Utilize Microsoft Excel and AI-assisted tooling (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to analyze voice data, streamline project workflows, and automate documentation.


Build comprehensive technical documentation, implementation procedures, and configuration standards to ensure smooth handoffs to permanent staff upon project completion.


qualifications:

- Strong hands-on experience administering and configuring MS Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Auto Attendants, Call Queues, and general VoIP/SIP technology.


- Demonstrated experience with enterprise Mitel PBX administration, including Hunt Groups (HTG) and call routing.


- Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining AudioCodes analog gateways (or equivalent voice gateway technologies).


- Track record of executing large-scale telecom or IT infrastructure modernization projects.


- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manipulate, reconcile, and validate complex inventory data sets.


- Practical experience using AI-assisted productivity tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for data analysis, process efficiency, or documentation.


- Experience with AWS Connect Contact Center.


- Background supporting telecom environments in Higher Education, Healthcare, or specialized clinical environments.
