About the Role

We’re looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Lead to own the end-to-end customer journey across Captions’ products. In this role, you’ll build and scale lifecycle programs that drive onboarding, conversion, retention, and winback across iOS, Android, and web.

You’ll own both strategy and execution: defining the lifecycle roadmap, building campaigns, and continuously optimizing performance across email, push, and in-app channels. You’ll partner closely with our product, engineering, data science, and creative teams to deliver the right message to the right customer at the right time.

The programs you build will directly impact core company metrics and shape how customers experience and engage with Captions. This role is ideal for someone excited to get hands-on while setting a clear vision for lifecycle marketing at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full customer lifecycle, from onboarding and activation to conversion, retention, and winback

  • Define and execute a lifecycle marketing roadmap aligned with company goals and product priorities

  • Build, launch, and optimize cross-channel campaigns across email, push, in-app, and SMS

  • Design and run experiments to improve key subscription metrics such as trial conversion, churn, reactivation, and LTV

  • Partner closely with product, engineering, data science, and creative teams to deliver personalized, timely customer experiences

  • Leverage data and insights to continuously improve performance and inform lifecycle strategy

  • Use AI tools to accelerate execution, improve copy, and support analysis and experimentation

Requirements
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing at a software company or high-growth subscription business

  • Proven track record of building lifecycle programs from early foundations, not just optimizing mature systems

  • Expert-level proficiency in Iterable (required), including building complex journeys and running experiments

  • Experience across the full lifecycle with a strong understanding of subscription metrics and how lifecycle programs move them

  • Strong mobile experience driving engagement across iOS and Android, with comfort owning cross-channel strategies

  • Highly analytical and experimental mindset, with experience designing structured tests and measuring incrementality

  • Collaborative approach and excitement about partnering cross-functionally

Bonus Points
  • You have a strong understanding of the creator economy and the end-to-end content creation process

  • You’ve worked in a product-led growth or self-serve funnel environment

  • You have experience with mobile measurement, attribution, or analytics platforms such as Amplitude or Mixpanel

Benefits:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans

  • 401K with employer match

  • Commuter Benefits

  • Catered lunch multiple days per week

  • Dinner stipend every night if you're working late and want a bite!

  • Grubhub subscription

  • Health & Wellness Perks

  • Multiple team offsites per year with team events every month

  • Generous PTO policy
