POSITION: Quality & Safety TechnicianSHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (OT as required)PAY RATE: $23.00 - $26.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit PackageLOCATION: Minnkota Windows West Fargo, ND
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality & Safety Technician supports manufacturing operations by helping maintain product quality, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance. This role performs inspections, maintains required records, assists with nonconformance and incident follow-up, supports safety training and hazard identification efforts, and helps ensure products and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable certification and safety requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Comprehend and follow company safety, quality, and productivity processes.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify materials, workmanship, and finished goods meet manufacturing specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Support the Minnkota Windows Quality Management System (QMS) by maintaining required documentation, inspection records, and control logs.
  • Verify materials and workmanship meet NFRC requirements, internal standards, drawings, and specifications, as applicable.
  • Document defects and identify nonconforming raw materials, work-in-process, or finished goods; assist with segregation, disposition, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Maintain inspection and test equipment calibration and verification records, as applicable.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard observations throughout the facility; report unsafe conditions, behaviors, and equipment concerns.
  • Support incident, injury, and near-miss reporting and investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and assisting with corrective action tracking.
  • Assist with coordination and documentation of required safety training, safety meetings, and compliance records.
  • Monitor the availability, condition, and proper use of personal protective equipment, safety supplies, and related materials.
  • Partner with production and other departments to communicate quality and safety concerns and support timely resolution.
  • Support field issue investigations and related decisions associated with product quality and conformance, as needed.
  • Work flexible hours, overtime, or weekends as needed.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES
  • Understanding of the Minnkota Windows QMS, NFRC requirements, and applicable quality standards.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, procedures, and other technical documents.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and support accountability for quality and safety practices.
  • Ability to work accurately, thoroughly, and consistently while maintaining dependable and professional workplace relationships.
  • Demonstrated initiative to identify problems, investigate root causes, and support corrective actions.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibilities related to quality inspection, safety support, or a combination of both preferred.
  • Experience with incident reporting, safety documentation, inspections, or regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Experience in window manufacturing is preferred.
  • Preferred certifications or training include OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR/AED, forklift trainer or operator certification, internal auditor training, or other quality- and safety-related coursework.

Specific Requirements for Level 2
Quality & Safety Technician 2:
In addition to Level 1 requirements:
  • Perform quality inspections and safety support activities with greater independence and judgment.
  • Support more complex nonconformance, corrective action, incident, and near-miss follow-up activities.
  • Assist with internal audits, safety training coordination, and development of documentation or process improvements.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for quality and safety processes within the operation.
  • Two or more years of related experience in quality inspection, safety support, or manufacturing compliance activities preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, document findings accurately, and support corrective action follow-through.
  • Working knowledge of applicable quality systems, inspection methods, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
