Position Summary
Campus Ministry at the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for a part-time (0.25 FTE) position of Liturgical Ministerial Assistant.
The Liturgical Ministerial Assistant focuses on the spiritual and logistical support of the liturgical life of our campus community, including weekly student-led Masses, departmental worship, and collaboration with the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict for key liturgical celebrations.
Rooted in the Catholic Benedictine tradition, the Liturgical Assistant will accompany and form student ministers in roles such as liturgical planners, choir leaders, and musicians. They will also provide leadership for Eucharistic Adoration as needed and assist in strengthening liturgical hospitality through efforts like after-Mass socials and chapel beautification.

Responsibilities
Liturgical Planning and Support
• Support the planning, preparation, and execution of all Campus Ministry liturgies, including weekly student Masses, and special liturgical celebrations such as but not limited to Ash Wednesday and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
• Collaborate with the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict for major liturgical events and shared celebrations.
• Lead Eucharistic Adoration as needed.
• Support the preparation and celebration of the monthly Spanish Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel.
Formation of Student Liturgical Ministers
• Mentor and accompany student ministers who serve as liturgical planners, musicians, choir members, volunteers, and chapel beautification
• Lead formation and reflection sessions focused on Benedictine liturgical spirituality and best practices in inclusive campus liturgy.
Pastoral Communication and Planning
• Work closely with the Director of Campus Ministry to develop and edit worship aids for liturgies.
• Stay up to date with messaging from the Vatican and the Holy Father and offer reflections and resources to help integrate these into the spiritual life of the campus.
• Help plan and coordinate after mass socials with the Campus Ministry team to foster community and liturgical hospitality.
Supervision and Formation
• Participate in weekly ministerial formation with the Director of Campus Ministry.
• Meet regularly with the Liturgical Campus Ministry team to support shared goals and efforts.
• Communicate regularly with the Director and collaborate with other ministerial staff as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Campus Ministry.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
• High school diploma; bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum one year experience working with college students.
• Musical or liturgical planning background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of, and experience with, Catholic liturgy, especially in a campus or parish setting.
• Familiarity with and appreciation for Benedictine liturgical theology and hospitality.
• Comfortable singing and participating in both English- and Spanish-language liturgical settings
• Organized, proactive, and collaborative ministry leadership.
• Committed to inclusive worship that reflects the richness of the Catholic tradition and the diversity of the college community.
• Reliable, proactive, and attentive to the small details that help people feel welcome and supported.
Physical requirements:
• Requires working at a computer for extended periods, including typing, reading from a screen, and using various software programs essential for the role
• Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 25 pounds
Travel requirements:
• Limited travel between the campuses of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University
