Yourfuture role on our team
BBA is seeking a motivated and dynamic Mine Wasteand/or Geotechnical Engineer to support the growth of the Tailings and MineWaste Department. You will collaborate closely with engineers from multipledisciplines-such as mining, civil, environmental, and process engineering-aswell as engage with regulatory agencies and stakeholders. Your work willinvolve both office and field components. Your contributions will ensure ourprojects not only meet current geotechnical and regulatory requirements, butalso lead the way in innovative, responsible resource development. Yourinvolvement in continuous innovation and the optimization of best work methodswill be crucial championing the adoption of advanced practices and technologiesthat enhance both project outcomes and operational efficiency. 

Withus, you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Support design, analysis, and management of mine waste facilities (tailings, waste rock, water management structures)
  • Play a pivotal part in the safe and sustainable management of mine waste throughout all stages of the mining life cycle-from project development and construction to operation, closure, and reclamation
  • Be responsible for the design, analysis, and ongoing management of critical mine waste infrastructure, including tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and water management systems
  • Lead and support geotechnical investigations and site characterizations, ensuring that all recommendations and designs meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, engineering drawings, and documentation for permitting
  • Carry out risk assessments and dam safety reviews
  • Provide construction oversight and quality assurance during project execution
  • Evaluate the ongoing performance of existing mine waste structures
  • Recommend design or operational improvements
  • Help develop closure strategies that support environmental stewardship and long-term site stability
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and proactively managing stakeholder expectations to drive sustained growth
  • Participate in industry conferences, representing our organization's commitment to thought leadership and networking with key partners
  • Protect people, property, and the environment throughout the lifespan of our client's mining operations
