Job description

The Project Geologist will be responsible for planning, executing, and interpreting drilling programs to support resource growth and project development. This role works closely with geology, technical services, and operations teams to ensure accurate data collection, safe execution, and high-quality geological interpretation.

You will lead field programs from target generation through drilling execution and data interpretation, ensuring that all geological, geochemical, and spatial data are collected and integrated effectively to support decision-making.

The schedule is 8 days on/6 days off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support surface and underground drilling programs from planning through execution

  • Ensure accurate geological logging, sampling, and data collection for drill programs

  • Supervise and coordinate drilling contractors, vendors, and field teams

  • Develop and refine geological models to support resource definition and exploration targeting

  • Conduct geological mapping and sampling programs, including rock, soil, and structural mapping

  • Manage sample preparation, submission, and assay tracking

  • Implement and maintain QA/QC protocols to ensure data quality and integrity

  • Analyze and interpret geological, geochemical, and drilling data

  • Utilize software tools (e.g., Leapfrog or similar) to generate models, sections, and reports

  • Support exploration targeting and contribute to technical decision-making

  • Provide regular updates and communicate results to internal stakeholders

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in mineral exploration or mine geology

  • Experience in underground mining operations

  • Hands-on experience with drilling programs and geological data collection

  • Strong understanding of geological logging, sampling, and QA/QC procedures

  • Ability to work in both surface and underground environments

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without work visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in active exploration or mining operations

  • Experience in surface mining operations

  • Experience with Leapfrog or similar geological modeling software

  • Experience with geological databases and data management systems

  • Strong understanding of mineral systems and exploration targeting
