Position Description
Title: Maintenance Machine Repair
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Status: Non-Exempt Hourly
Position Purpose: Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and rebuild of all plant electrical equipment and machines. Involved with modifying and improving existing equipment. Train and pass along knowledge to other employees. Assist production with maintaining a high level of equipment up time. Work extended schedules during shutdown periods.
Principle Accountabilities
  • Actively Participate in the Marysville Plant Safety Program
  • Communicate shift activities with other maintenance personnel and maintenance supervisors.
  • Break down work orders to determine feasibility and what resources are needed to complete.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment performance is at maximum.
  • Interact with equipment suppliers.
  • Develop repair procedures and monitor as needed.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for equipment improvements.
  • Actively participate in department meetings.
  • Occasionally travel to suppliers and trade shows to communicate our requirements.
  • Make some decisions based only on limited amount of information available at a given time.
  • Perform shut down activities.
  • Communicate equipment and process changes with Production.
  • Communicate equipment upgrades with Engineering.
  • Investigate problems with equipment, and, or process.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Journeyman's card in Machine Repair, Millwright, Machine Builder or related skilled trade and/or a minimum of five to seven years of relevant work experience in one of the previously referenced trades
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in the following areas:
    • Fabrication, hydraulics and pneumatics as well as operating various machining equipment and various hand tools
    • General Maintenance knowledge
    • Must be able to perform the following:
      • Weld
      • Operate a mill, lathe, drill press, cut-off saw, read blueprints and layouts
