Requirements & Skills:

  • Currently holds or has the ability to get a Pipefitter, Machine Repair, or Millwright Journeyperson's card by:
    • having served a bona fide apprenticeship and present certificate or
    • had 8 years practical experience at the trade and can establish satisfactory proof by means of a notarized affidavit or
    • present a UAW Journeyperson's card
  • Ability to weld, fabricate, run torches
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment and machinery. 
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Ability to make repairs on conveyor’s, production equipment
  • complete preventive maintenance work such as inspecting and replacing belts, greasing bearings, tightening chains
  • loading and unloading of maintenance material and equipment
  • Perform plumbing and piping repairs
  • perform maintenance on all piping systems and valves (compressed air, natural gas, domestic water, wastewater, process fluids, steam)
  • Complete various repairs including toilets, sinks, and drains
  • Maintain and repair machinery, pumps, valves, gearboxes, cylinders, torque tools riveters, and related equipment
  • changing hydraulic and gear oil

  • Keep production running with minimal downtime
