As a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings-which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway-you'll be doing things that matter, leading at every level, and winning a better way. We're committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone's empowered to be their best.
Build Your Career in Industrial Field Operations
At Transco Rail Services, we don't just repair railcars, we keep critical industries moving. As part of Marmon Rail (a Berkshire Hathaway company), we operate a growing network of facilities and field service teams across North America, supporting customers in transportation, energy, and manufacturing.
We are expanding our field services team and looking for hands-on, mechanically inclined professionals who want more than a routine job-this is an opportunity to build a long-term career in industrial equipment, field operations, and specialized services.
What You'll Do:
This role is a unique blend of equipment operation, mechanical work, and driving. You'll be part of a mobile team supporting projects across various customer sites.
On any given week, you will:
  • Operate specialized industrial equipment (pumps, heaters, cranes, and cleaning systems)
  • Transport equipment to job sites using CDL vehicles
  • Perform hands-on field work, including setup, rigging, and equipment connections
  • Support industrial tank cleaning and maintenance operations
  • Conduct basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ensure safe handling, rigging, and movement of equipment
  • Work closely with your team to execute projects efficiently and safely
  • Travel as needed (up to ~75%) to support field operations

This is not a "sit in a truck" role; this is active, hands-on field work where you'll run the equipment, solve problems, and keep operations moving.
What Makes This Role Different:
  • Variety of Work - Every project and site is different
  • Hands-On Skill Building - Develop mechanical and industrial equipment expertise
  • Career Growth - Opportunities across Transco, Marmon Rail, and 100+ Marmon companies
  • High Impact - Your work directly supports critical infrastructure and industries

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, solving problems, and being in the field.
Requirements:
  • CDL Class A license (manual preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude (experience as a mechanic, millwright, equipment operator, or similar trade)
  • Ability to work in physically demanding, industrial environments
  • Willingness to travel regularly for project-based work, 75% required
  • Strong commitment to safety

Preferred:
  • Experience with industrial equipment, pumps, or heavy machinery
  • Background in field services, construction, industrial maintenance, or environmental services
  • Experience working with rigging, lifting, or load securement

Work Environment:
  • Indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions
  • Exposure to industrial settings (noise, fumes, temperature changes)
  • Requires use of PPE, including respirators (clean shave required)
  • Physical activity including lifting, climbing, and confined space work

Compensation & Benefits
We know this role requires skill, flexibility, and commitment, and we compensate accordingly.
What you can expect:
  • Competitive hourly pay + overtime opportunity
  • Travel-based work schedule
  • Long-term career stability within a growing organization

Full Benefits - Day One:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • Paid time off + paid holidays
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Career growth opportunities across Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway companies

Why Transco?
At Transco, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a company that:
  • Prioritizes safety and people first
  • Invests in training and development
  • Offers real career mobility, not just lateral moves
  • Is backed by the strength and stability of a global organization
