Job description

TABER, the leading manufacturer of custom millwork, metalwork, and upholstery in Orange County, is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the architectural millwork industry, possess strong analytical, be a self-starter, have strong problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. You will be responsible for assisting in providing accurate and timely proposals for custom millwork projects.
Your projects will be amongst some of the largest and most preeminent ones in Southern California, and you will be working with many of the biggest contractors and sophisticated owners and architects.

We have a strong Estimating Department and we are looking to expand. We are willing to train and mentor anyone qualified for the position.
Job Overview:
  • Assist lead estimators in reviewing project documents, plans, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Assist in completing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for all phases of millwork

construction
  • Assist in coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive millwork

project estimates.
  • Learn to develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Participate in project hand off meetings to ensure a smooth handover to the project

management team.
  • Assist on change order review and cost impacts upon request from Estimating Manager.

Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in estimating custom millwork projects.
  • Strong knowledge of millwork materials, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with estimating software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using Innergy software is a plus.
