Job description

We are hiring an experienced Senior Architectural Millwork Engineer to support high-end residential millwork, cabinetry, casework, closets, countertops, and custom manufacturing projects.

This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer or design leader with deep experience in architectural millwork and luxury residential work. The right candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, hands-on manufacturing experience, and the ability to lead CAD design, engineering support, CNC programming coordination, and quality control from design through production.

Project management experience is a plus, but not required. The priority is finding someone with strong senior engineering experience, high-end residential millwork knowledge, and the ability to support complex custom projects with accuracy, leadership, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering and technical design for high-end architectural millwork, cabinetry, closets, countertops, and casework projects
  • Create, review, and manage detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and engineering documents
  • Support CAD design, CNC programming, manufacturing engineering, and production coordination
  • Review project plans, specifications, field measurements, design intent, and client requirements
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, field teams, shop leadership, installers, and production staff
  • Ensure drawings and engineering packages are accurate, buildable, and aligned with quality standards
  • Identify design conflicts, material issues, production challenges, or constructability concerns early
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineering team members
  • Support quality control standards throughout design, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Help ensure custom millwork projects move smoothly from design through fabrication and installation

Requirements

  • 15+ years of senior engineering, drafting, or technical design experience in architectural millwork preferred
  • Strong experience with high-end residential millwork required
  • Experience with custom cabinetry, casework, closets, countertops, architectural millwork, or custom furniture
  • Strong CAD design and manufacturing engineering background
  • Experience with CNC programming, shop drawings, production drawings, and fabrication support
  • Proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, AlphaCam, Rhino, KCD, or similar tools
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, field measurements, and shop requirements
  • Strong understanding of materials, hardware, joinery, fabrication methods, and installation coordination
  • Leadership experience mentoring CAD designers or supporting engineering teams preferred
  • Builder or luxury residential construction experience is a strong plus
  • Project management experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
