Position Summary

The Millwork Estimator plays a critical leadership role in driving accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across all general contracting project support functions at CCI Group. This position is responsible not only for producing and reviewing estimated material and labor costs, but also for documenting and communicating to management the basis used to arrive at total job costs , standardizing processes, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and ensuring best practices—particularly within the INNERGY ERP platform.

This role serves as both a technical expert and mentor, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment while supporting delivery of profitable project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating Leadership & Oversight

· Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall performance

· Establish and enforce standardized estimating processes, tools, and best practices

· Serve as the primary subject matter expert for estimating costs of providing specified project contracted materials and services within the Pre-sales organization

· Ensure alignment between estimating by means of delivery concise and accurate project scope and associated costs to CCI leadership, including project managers, engineering and operations as well as business development

INNERGY Platform Ownership & Optimization of quotation estimates

· Serve as the internal expert on the INNERGY ERP platform estimating function

· Ensure all estimates are documented to include all relevant communications, quoted materials and buyouts, reviewed by finance contract compliance prior to submittal deadlines, and maintained in accordance with INNERGY best practices

· Train and onboard new estimators on proper system usage, workflows, and data integrity

· Identify gaps in system utilization and implement process improvements

· Maintain accurate cost databases, assemblies, labor units, and pricing structures within INNERGY

· Partner with leadership to improve reporting of project status and follow through with customer, forecasting, and estimating analytics

Project Review & Cost Validation

· Review project drawings, specifications, addenda, and scope requirements for alignment with CCI ability to perform with completeness and accuracy

· Validate detailed architectural takeoffs, ensuring alignment with project scope and design intent

· Confirm all cost components including materials, labor, installation, subcontractors, and vendor pricing for the estimated date of work delivery

· Ensure estimates provide clear, organized, and actionable budget breakdowns for Project Management

· Collaborate with production and installation teams to communicate project scope and estimated efficiencies in order to improve delivery of expected delivery schedule and profitability

Project Planning & Preconstruction Support

· Ensure all bid documentation is complete, organized, and properly aligned to contract specifications

· Participate in project planning and handoff meetings to support smooth project administration and delivery

· Provide insight into project risks, opportunities, and key cost drivers

· Support Business Development in reviewing Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and project selection

Estimator Development & Performance Management

· Develop and manage a performance tracking system for estimators (volume, accuracy, win rate, profitability)

· Conduct regular one-on-one coaching, quarterly reviews, and annual performance evaluations

· Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training and development plans

· Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration

Estimating Strategy & Planning

· Manage estimating project workload, scheduling, and resource allocation

· Prioritize projects based on strategic fit, profitability potential, and capacity

· Collaborate with leadership to support growth initiatives and market positioning

· Continuously evaluate and improve estimating workflows and efficiencies

Qualifications & Requirements

· 5+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential construction estimating (millwork or related industry preferred)

· Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring estimators

· Minimum of 1+ years of experience with the ERP estimating platform required

· Advanced understanding of construction documents, blueprints, and specifications

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills (including geometry and material calculations)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required; advanced skills preferred)

· Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

· High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and accountability

· Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

· Willingness to travel as needed (30%)
