JOB TITLE:              Texturing OPERATOR                     

REPORTS TO:         Texturing Production Manager          

 

PURPOSE:               

To safely and efficiently run texturing machines to spec and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:        

  1. Run machines to spec and quality standards
  2. Keep ends up and running
  3. Troubleshoot ends that are down and correct
  4. Splice packs together
  5. Flag position that are not working
  6. Keep work area clean

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to work safely
  2. Ability to read and write and follow directions
  3. Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  4. Ability to understand and follow texturing operator standard work procedures
  5. Ability to run 4-5 machines efficiently
  6. Ability to trouble and correct machine position issues and flag positions if position can't be fixed by operator
  7. Ability to work as a team.
  8. Good communication skills

 

MACHINES, TOOLS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Creel, Yarn, Pen, Marker, doff guide, need. Aspirator, splicer, texturing machine, step ladders

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME:  8-12 Weeks

  1. Standing:  

Ability to stand to run and fix machines

  1. Moving

Move freely throughout the texturing department

Use a broom and dust pan.

  1. Reach:

Ability to reach yarn above head with a guide assistance to rethread machine

  1. Access

Ability to use step ladders and stationary ladders

  1. Bending:  

Ability to pick up objects from the floor. Ability to bend to ground and sometimes sit on knees to cut out laps

  1. Walking

Ability to walk through the plant to get to work station, meeting rooms, break area, and to perform audits.

  1. Environment: 

Ability to work around polyester, nylon and acetate

  1. Environment: 

Ability to work in a conditioned indoor environment where temperature varies with the weather.

11) Environment:

Ability to follow defined break schedule

Ability to work in manufacturing environment around powered material handling vehicles and moving mechanical parts.

Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.  Must be able to rotate with assigned shifts per work schedule.  Must be able to regularly and predictably attend per scheduled hours.
