Job Summary

Pacific Northern Environmental LLC (PNE LLC) is seeking a Safety Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service and skills to our company, clients, and employees.

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for safety training, acting as a resource for risk assessments and management, permits, plans, and leads a safe work environment for all employees.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred), equivalent field experience considered in lieu of.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in safety management within construction, industrial, or environmental sectors.
  • Professional safety certification(s) such as CSP, ASP, or CHST (preferred or ability to obtain).
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, WISHA, EPA, MSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of engaging with personnel from field employees to senior leadership.
  • OSHA 500 trainer or MSHA instructor certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, safety software platforms, and digital reporting tools.
  • Overnight travel required (when directed).
  • Driver's license required and must meet eligibility requirements to be covered under the company's vehicle insurance policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Safety Supervisor possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

  • Helps plan, execute, and lead new hire safety training along with other members of PNE's Safety Team
  • Plans and attends monthly safety meetings at all assigned divisions.
  • Strong communication with Division Managers to discuss current jobs, conduct safety audits on said locations.
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Complete site audits with remarks and findings, communicate these to the appropriate parties.
  • Complete inspections involving vacuum trucks and other related equipment.
  • Develop Health and Safety Plans for various projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

  • Move about the jobsite as needed.
  • Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
