Whey Processing Operator
Position Summary
The Whey Processing Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring whey filtration, separation, pasteurization, and cleaning systems. This position requires an independent, safety-focused individual who can troubleshoot equipment, make sound decisions, and maintain efficient production operations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor whey filtration systems.
  • Operate the whey separator to separate whey components from milk.
  • Monitor computerized production and cleaning systems.
  • Collect product samples as directed.
  • Load cream and whey protein concentrate (WPC) trucks.
  • Assist permeate truck drivers and coordinate product loading.
  • Monitor silo levels and switch silos when required.
  • Perform Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures when silos and equipment are empty.
  • Transfer products between tanks, silos, and processing systems as needed.
  • Pasteurize cream used in butter production.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment according to company procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment or processing problems.
  • Maintain accurate production and cleaning records.
  • Follow all safety, food-quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions and solve problems with limited supervision.
  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in dairy processing, food manufacturing, filtration, pasteurization, or CIP systems is preferred but not required.

Schedule:
  • Thursday to Saturday from 4 pm to 4 am and every other wednesday.

Compensation:
Your journey begins with training pay starting at $20.15 per hour, with the potential to reach $23.65 per hour after mastering all skill levels and experience.
