Experienced Equipment Operator / Construction Laborer

Location: Reese, Michigan
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Full-Time
Travel: Out-of-town travel required during busy season

DHT Group is hiring an Experienced Equipment Operator / Construction Laborer for our Reese, Michigan operation. We're looking for dependable professionals with at least two years of verifiable construction or heavy equipment experience who take pride in working safely, working hard, and getting the job done right.

This is a hands-on position. You'll operate heavy equipment, perform physical labor when needed, and work alongside an experienced crew on excavation and site development projects throughout Michigan. Every project is different, giving you the opportunity to expand your skills while working with a company that values professionalism, teamwork, and quality workmanship.


What You'll Do
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist with excavation, grading, trenching, and site preparation
  • Load and unload materials and equipment
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations
  • Travel to out-of-town projects during the busy season
  • Work as part of a professional construction crew
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of verifiable construction or heavy equipment experience required
  • Experience operating excavators, loaders, dozers, or similar equipment preferred
  • CDL-A preferred, but not required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Willing to travel as business demands
  • Committed to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of verifiable heavy equipment or construction experience
  • Working knowledge of the safe operation of heavy equipment and construction equipment
  • Ability to inspect, clean, maintain, and perform minor servicing of equipment
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to jobsite safety
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excavation or site development experience
  • Demolition experience
  • Valid CDL-A (preferred, but not required)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
