This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting all processes related to the maintenance of the plant’s physical structure, production equipment, plant utilities and environmental systems.  The Engineering Services Manager is directly responsible for leading the team of Sr. Engineering Services Engineers and Engineering Supervisors.  Total direct and indirect reports for the Engineering Services Manager exceeds 50+ at the Magnolia Finishing plant. This position is located at the Milliken Magnolia Finishing Plant located in Blacksburg SC and reports to the location’s Plant Manager. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure optimal performance of all mechanical and electrical equipment to include continuous improvement, downtime reduction, energy consumption reduction, measurement, environmental impact:

            -digital drive, PLC, and process control systems

            -plant computer systems and networks

            -electrical power distribution and systems

            -motor, gearbox, belt and pulley mechanical power transfer

            -compressed air generation and transfer

            -steam generation and transfer

  • Create standard work audits, layered audits and appropriate work oversight
  • Maintain appropriate performance reports (building, production, environmental)
  • Establish collaborative internal and external relationships:
    -engineering services team members

-plant departments

-outside contractors and vendors

  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain preventative maintenance processes
  • Understand and effectively participate in the plant safety process
  • Head plant efforts in:

-Confined space

-Emergency preparation

-Lockout Tagout

-Adherence to OSHA standards

  • Coordinate training, developing, and coaching team members:

-Foster a working environment that promotes open communications, teamwork and individual engagement to accomplish goals and objectives
-Ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
-Ensure safety rules are clearly understood and followed

  • Develop/implement capital investment projects/budgets
  • Manage maintenance spending to defined budget

Qualifications - Required:

  • BS degree (preferred mechanical, electrical or aplicable engineering) with 10+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 5 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing maintenance environment

 

Qualifications - Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a dyeing and finishing operation
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in LEAN and six sigma principles

The successful candidates will demonstrate strengths in the following:
