ABOUT THE POSITION & ITS IMPACT

The Primary Therapist is responsible for all aspects of client care to including providing group and individual therapy sessions for all clients on their care. An instrumental part of the Milestones Clinical Team, the Primary Therapist partners with the Clinical Supervisor, Medical Team, Milestones Operations team and other stakeholders to produce transformative clinical experiences and outcomes for clients. There is no position within the Milestones team that is as directly involved in the day-to-day aspects of clinical client care than a Primary Therapist.

ABOUT THE DAY-TO-DAY IN THIS ROLE:

  • Provide world-class therapeutic experiences for clients including completing initial assessments, collaborating on treatment plans, maintaining regular communications with the client’s stakeholders (reference, family, case manager, etc.) and facilitating therapy groups, individual sessions, family sessions and program activities
  • Manage crisis situations through de-escalation techniques and effective emergency management procedures
  • Be a student of all therapeutic modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, experiential and more
  • Collaborate with other clinicians, medical advisors, psychiatric providers, and residential teams to produce life-changing results for our clients brainstorming ways to address concerns, roadblocks or issues within the clinical room

Requirements:

IDEAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE:

Typically, with most openings within our team we have very open and flexible requirements for evaluating candidates for a position. However, given this role is clinical in nature we require strict adherence to these needs:

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification required. Must hold current Tennessee License or other state license working towards TN credentials within one (1) year of hire
  • Five (5) years of experience in trauma treatment preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in various modalities of treating survivors of trauma; EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, experiential therapy, etc.
