Job description

Job Title:ย  Migration Architect Onsite Data Migration

Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)

Mode: Contract (6+ Months)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Map legacy data fields to the Teamcenter BMIDE (Business Modeler IDE) data model, ensuring proper object relationships and lifecycle states.
  • Design and lead the development of custom migration scripts and utilities using ITK (Integration Toolkit), SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), and TCXML/PLMXML.
  • Utilize and guide the team in using standard Siemens tools such as CSV2TCXML, IPS Upload, and Bulk Loader.
  • Design solutions for migrating complex CAD data (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks) while maintaining associativity and product structure integrity.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to offshore development teams, ensuring alignment with the overall architectural vision.
  • Plan and execute multiple migration cycles, including dress rehearsals and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to validate data accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee the profiling of legacy data to identify and resolve quality issues before import.
  • Act as the senior point of escalation for complex technical issues related to server configuration, CAD data, or migration errors
  • Maintain consistent communication with onshore teams and stakeholders to ensure functional requirements are met.
  • Develop reusable templates and best practices for data migration to be used across multiple rollouts or projects.
  • Author functional specifications, technical designs, and comprehensive documentation for migration procedures.
