Job description

Job Requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic GCP Architect with a proven track record in leading complex application migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the architecture, strategy, and execution roadmap for migrating mission-critical applications to the Google Cloud Platform. You will serve as a subject matter expert, bridging the gap between legacy on-premises infrastructure and modern, cloud-native environments.Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture & Strategy: Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures on GCP, adhering to Google Cloud best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles.
  • Migration Execution: Lead end-to-end application migration projects using the 6Rs framework (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Retain, Repurchase).
  • Technical Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Infrastructure) through architectural design, cloud-native transformation, and system integration.
  • Infrastructure Management: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (Terraform, Deployment Manager) to automate environment provisioning.
  • Performance & Governance: Establish guardrails for cloud cost management (FinOps), security compliance, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary liaison between technical teams and executive leadership, providing status reporting, risk mitigation strategies, and roadmap alignment.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5+ years specializing in Cloud Architecture and Application Migration.
  • Cloud Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with GCP core services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM).
  • Migration Proficiency: Proven track record in executing large-scale, enterprise-level migrations from on-premises/legacy environments to GCP.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build).
  • Strong knowledge of networking (VPN, Interconnect, Load Balancing) and security (Cloud Security Command Center, KMS).
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in assessing legacy application portfolios for cloud readiness, including dependency mapping and performance benchmarking.
  • Communication: Exceptional executive-level communication skills, capable of presenting complex cloud strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect (Current) is highly preferred. Additional certifications in AWS or Azure are a plus.
  • Frameworks: Proficiency in Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • FinOps: Experience implementing cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Data Migration: Experience with database migration tools and strategies (e.g., Database Migration Service, Cloud Spanner).

710years
