Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or Associate's degree or higher; or successful completion of a formal academic assessment that demonstrates either knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, mathematics, and other academic subjects or knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Industry certification preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
  • Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and obtain parents' signatures on Certificate of Eligibility forms of migratory children ages 3-21 in the community and schools who are eligible for services provided by the Florida Migratory Child Compensatory Program.
  • Assist migrant families with school enrollment, transportation arrangements, appointments for physicals and immunizations, and any additional information required for student registration.
  • Assist migrant families in obtaining health and social services to support the children in realizing the maximum benefits from his/her school.
  • Work closely with school personnel and health care providers to ensure the delivery of health services to migrant children.
  • Assist program personnel in the planning and implementation of parent involvement activities.
  • Work at the Family Learning Center to assist families with school-related paperwork.
  • Provide transportation to students for medical, dental, vision, and after-school tutorial services and to parents as needed.
  • Conduct home visits for recruitment and/or student achievement.
  • Submit reports as required.
  • Set up and maintain a file of community resources, listing the names of agency, organization/individual, and the services provided.
  • Complete a defensive driving course provided by the District in order to utilize Title I vans.
  • Assist federal project directors in other related duties.
  • Maintain daily appointment logs and submit on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
