What are Midstream Remote jobs?

Midstream Remote jobs refer to positions in the oil and gas industry that focus on the transportation, storage, and marketing of petroleum products and natural gas, but are performed remotely rather than on-site. These roles can include pipeline monitoring, control room operations, logistics coordination, and compliance, all managed through digital platforms and remote technologies. Remote work in the midstream sector allows employees to monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate logistics from a distance, increasing efficiency and safety. Such jobs require a good understanding of industry regulations, digital tools, and communication technology. As the industry embraces digital transformation, remote midstream jobs are becoming increasingly common.

To thrive as a Midstream Remote Operator, you need in-depth knowledge of pipeline operations, safety protocols, and typically a background in engineering, process technology, or a related field. Familiarity with SCADA systems, remote monitoring technologies, and certifications such as OSHA or HAZWOPER are often required. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help operators respond quickly to alarms and coordinate with field teams. These competencies are crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant midstream energy operations.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in midstream remote roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in midstream remote roles often navigate challenges such as coordinating with on-site teams, managing real-time data remotely, and ensuring the reliability of communication systems. To address these, it's essential to leverage robust digital tools for monitoring and reporting, establish clear communication protocols, and maintain regular check-ins with field personnel. Fostering strong teamwork and staying proactive about troubleshooting technical issues can help ensure smooth operations and project success.

This role is structured as a contract-based commercial development position focused on identifying, qualifying, and advancing high-value sales opportunities for Arkema’s molecular sieve solutions.

The role focuses on driving commercial growth for molecular sieve solutions used in natural gas dehydration and gas processing, leveraging relationships across pipeline operators, gas processors, LNG developers, EPCs, and major energy companies.

A key objective is to originate, qualify, and manage a structured sales funnel, transitioning high-quality opportunities to Arkema’s internal technical sales team for engineering support, proposal development, and closing.

  • Build connections across the Permian Basin, Appalachia, Gulf Coast/Louisiana LNG corridor, and Midwest/Midcontinent markets
  • Build and manage a structured sales funnel: lead generation, prospect identification, opportunity qualification, project timing, decision-makers, and prioritization
  • Serve as the front-end commercial filter, transitioning qualified leads to Arkema’s technical sales team for application support, adsorbent selection, system design input, proposal development, and closing support
  • Engage customers on value propositions including bed life, regeneration optimization, uptime, process efficiency, cost reduction, retrofit, and debottlenecking opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of market activity, expansions, and competitive dynamics

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or commercial roles
  • Working knowledge of natural gas dehydration, TEG and molecular sieve systems, gas processing operations, and pipeline specifications
  • Ability to operate independently in a contract sales associate role, with disciplined reporting, opportunity tracking, and customer follow-up
  • Experience with adsorbents, catalysts, or process technologies is a strong plus
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 40% of the time

Ideal Profile

  • Former professional from a midstream operator, LNG developer, distributor, EPC, or major energy company
  • Strong relationships in one or more target basins or LNG corridors
  • Credible with both technical stakeholders and commercial decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to originate, qualify, and advance opportunities through a structured funnel approach
  • Knowledge or exerpeince with adsorbents or molecular sieves is a plus
