The Job You Will Perform: 

Purpose: A platform architect develops and owns integrated roadmaps for core platforms, ensuring interconnected systems function cohesively to support business and IT priorities. They establish standards and governance, guide delivery partners on best practices, and provide oversight of platform solution delivery, upgrades and integrations to maintain consistency, scalability, and long-term value.

The IT Platform Architect for our Commercial & Sales Enablement - Salesforce team will own and improve the Salesforce platform from both an administration and architecture perspective. This role combines hands-on Salesforce administration with platform architecture, governance, integration strategy, security, and long-term scalability.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Strong thought leadership and ability to drive platform standards and governance

  • Ability to develop platform roadmaps and align them with business and IT strategies

  • Deep technical knowledge of platform capabilities and their integration across domains

    • Define Salesforce platform architecture strategy, standards, governance, reference models, integrated roadmaps, and future-state blueprints

    • Ensure Salesforce architecture supports interoperability, security, integration, evolving business priorities, and technology priorities across domains

    • Guide API-first integration strategies, middleware and messaging considerations, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks supporting Salesforce and connected applications

  • Translates business needs into scalable best-practice solutions for Salesforce and related platforms

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to align multiple stakeholders

    • Includes business stakeholders, end users, product and delivery teams, MSPs, architects, vendors, and third-party application suppliers

  • Defines architecture strategy and develops integrated roadmaps and future-state blueprints for Salesforce and other related platforms

  • Ensures platform architecture supports interoperability, security, and evolving business and technology priorities across domains

  • Establishes and enforces platform standards

    • Own Salesforce user and license management, including setup, deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, organization-wide defaults, and sharing rules

    • Implement and govern Salesforce configuration changes such as Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, apps, actions, dashboards, and reports

    • Manage sandbox environments, DevOps/release processes, technical documentation, and communication of platform changes to users and stakeholders

    • Improve Salesforce data quality and system reliability through rules, automation, proactive maintenance, security reviews, release updates, health checks, and Optimizer reviews

    • Support users through ticket resolution, training, stakeholder communication, adoption monitoring, and clear explanation of design options and impacts

    • Ensure data management and governance including reference models to drive consistency and re-use across functions leveraging the same platform

    • Define Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines and oversee automation frameworks (e.g., Azure DevOps, Gearset, GitHub, Testing Automation)

    • Establish integration strategies and practices including usage of middleware and messaging infrastructure (Eg: Webmethods, Mulesoft)

  • Partners with managed service providers (MSPs) and product/delivery teams to guide adherence to platform best practices and evaluate implications of technical upgrade

The Skills You Will Bring: 

Education and General Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent degree or experience

  • Excellent technical understanding of Salesforce and related platforms

  • Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud (Sales and Service Cloud)

  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Maps, CRM Analytics considered valuable

  • Mulesoft

  • Gearset or similar tooling

  • Strong Salesforce product knowledge and hands-on Salesforce administration experience

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator, with additional Salesforce certifications such as Platform Integration Architect, Platform Developer considered valuable
