Accounting Manager | Mid-Level

This mid-level, hourly management position is responsible for overseeing all accounting processes at the hotel, with key focuses on Account Reconciliation, Month-end Close, AR Aging, AP scanning and Allocation, and General Ledger management. The Accounting Manager ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with regulations, and the timely preparation of financial reports and monthly journal entries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Execute all accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate, timely financial statements, reports, and summaries.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop hotel leaders in financial literacy, particularly in AR and productivity. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and lead the evaluation and enhancement of accounting processes and systems, applying best practices to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analyses to support business decision-making, providing insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Labor Productivity: Perform weekly reviews of labor standard adherence and validate the accuracy of reported business levels.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.

Hospitality: Hyatt and/or hotel Accounting experience preferred.

Skills:

A genuine desire to support others in a fast-paced environment.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle preferred) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

High level of integrity and exceptional attention to detail.
