Job description

Laborers work on construction projects, and excavations. They may operate a variety of equipment including earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment. They clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, place shoring to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that construction projects are graded correctly, and that heavy equipment operators dig and fill to the correct depth.
  • Perform basic lath and pin staking.
  • Perform any other duties related to the job site
  • Regular attendance required.
  • Willing to travel and must be able to supply their own transportation.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • 1+ years of experience within the construction industry.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of English to read and understand work instructions and safety information.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, sitting, squatting, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be available for work 5am - 6pm Monday through Saturdays.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to machines and chemicals at various times. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
