Job description

Title: BIM Designer (Junior- Mid Level)

Location: San Francisco, CA or Houston, TX

Duration: Long Term Contract

Primary Skills: 3+ years of design experience on AutoCAD, Basic Revit knowledge, Excel Automation Skills.

Experience working on industrial, oil and gas, mining, manufacturing projects (highly preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain 2D and 3D drawings and models using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Civil 3D, and Revit
  • Support multi-disciplinary layouts, including:
  • Equipment and general arrangement plans
  • Civil drawing support
  • Maintenance of CAD standards across projects
  • Ensure high accuracy and quality of drawings and models, with strict adherence to project and company standards

Support BIM and digital delivery workflows, including:

  • Model cleanup, coordination, and standardization
  • Assist with automation and efficiency improvements using basic scripting and tools such as:
  • Python, PowerShell, AutoLISP
  • Revit add-ins, Dynamo, and Excel-based automation
  • Prepare drawings and models for design reviews, construction, and field execution
  • Maintain organized project files, templates, and documentation in accordance with internal CAD/BIM standards
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and external consultants to provide drafting and modeling support
  • Knowledge on file interoperability between process design and detailed design (preferred but not required)

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience as a CAD Designer, CAD Drafter, BIM Designer or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D, Plant 3D Preferred)
  • Experience working on industrial, mining, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects (preferred)
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines, not limited to a single trade
