ABOUT THE ROLE

Mid-Level Cad Technician is responsible for assisting lead drafter with the modeling and detailing of the project model and for preparation of erection/production drawings. May assume Lead Drafter responsibilities on small to mid-sized projects. This position supports the department in maintaining internal scheduling for project requirements and deadlines.

Salary range $26.00-$30.00 an hour. Based on experience.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Develop and revise erection drawings from architectural, structural, and other trade documents (steel, mechanical, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with the D&E team to ensure models and drawings are accurate, complete, and ready for production, casting, and erection
  • Create and update pour sheets and prepare material requisitions, including plate and assembly drawings, to support production needs
  • Maintain project data flow between Revit and Concrete Vision while ensuring adherence to departmental standards and best practices
  • Manage project timelines and workflow by following established target dates and proactively identifying efficiencies
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams as well as General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers to support successful project outcomes and avoid delays
  • Participate in job meetings and conduct site or plant visits as needed
  • Support team development by assisting in mentoring other CAD Technicians
  • Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Drafting Manager

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 24 year drafting degree preferred
  • 13 years of related drafting or construction experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction documents, blueprints, and erection drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and work efficiently
  • Solid math skills and the ability to visualize how materials and components are assembled
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate in team and one-on-one settings
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask across multiple projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work within fast-paced, schedule-driven environments
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and open to change, with a willingness to learn company products and processes

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
