Job Description
CI Press Operator
City of Industry, CA - Railroad St. Location
Compensation Includes
  • Starting Pay Rate of $26.08 - 31.25/hour depending on experience
    • $0.50/hour additional shift differential pay for 2nd shift
    • $1.00/hour additional shift differential pay for 3rd shift

Available Shift
  • 3rd: 10:30pm - 6:30am, Sunday - Thursday
    • Must be available to train on 2nd shift (2:30pm - 10:30pm, Monday - Friday)

Overview
The Flexographic Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of preprinted rolls while continuously monitoring print quality and press conditions. Using state of the art equipment the Flexographic Press Operator sets up, operates and maintains the Flexographic printing press to print on various paper stocks. This person should have solid printing-environment experience, strong math skills, good attendance, and a desire to grow their career with us.
Responsibilities
  • Our Flexographic Press Operators must adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines
  • Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments
  • Completes pre-flight/make-ready for job order verifying specified components needed
  • Gather/verify print cylinders, anilox rollers, substrate material, inks, cores, other supplies required for job
  • Perform plate mounting as needed
  • Operates press to produce product in accordance with customer specifications while maintain data gathering metrics for quality, waste, and press efficiency
  • Responsible for completing all required color and quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks
  • Critical quality checks include copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion
  • Responsible for completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard
  • Performs operator level scheduled preventative and unscheduled maintenance of press which can include cleans plate, cylinder, doctor blade chambers, change doctor blades and lubricate press components
  • Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations (i.e., GMP, HAACP, BRC) as applicable including work instructions
  • Other tasks as required.

Qualifications
  • While this role is for a Flexographic Press Operator, if someone has the right amount of experience as a printing press operator, there may be opportunity for hire
  • 1 to 5 years of flexographic printing press operator experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of 1 or more types of the following brands of Central Impression Flexographic Presses: Uteco North America
    • W&H (Windmoeller & Hoelscher)
    • PCMC (Paper Converting Machine Co.)
    • KYMC (Kuen Yuh Machinery Engineering Co.)
    • KBA-Flexotecnica / Koenig & Bauer
