What are Mid Level Developers?

Mid Level Developers are software professionals who have gained several years of experience beyond entry-level positions and are proficient in coding, debugging, and collaborating on projects. They possess a strong understanding of programming languages, frameworks, and software development processes. Mid Level Developers often take on more responsibility than junior developers, such as mentoring newer team members, contributing to architectural decisions, and ensuring code quality. They are expected to work independently on tasks, communicate effectively with team members, and deliver reliable solutions to complex problems.

What is the difference between Mid Level Developer vs Junior Developer?

The main difference between a Mid Level Developer and a Junior Developer lies in experience, skill proficiency, and responsibilities. Mid Level Developers have more experience, can handle complex tasks independently, and contribute significantly to projects, whereas Junior Developers are still learning foundational skills and typically work under supervision.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mid Level Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mid Level Developer, you need solid programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, along with a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, integrated development environments (IDEs), and frameworks such as React or Spring Boot is typically required. Effective problem-solving, teamwork, and strong communication skills help you collaborate and adapt to project needs. These abilities ensure you can deliver reliable code, work smoothly with colleagues, and contribute to successful software projects.

What opportunities for professional growth can a Mid Level Developer typically expect within a software development team?

As a Mid Level Developer, you can expect to take on more complex projects, mentor junior team members, and gradually assume greater ownership of features or modules. Many organizations support growth through peer code reviews, access to learning resources, and the chance to participate in architectural discussions. Advancement paths often include moving toward senior developer roles, technical leads, or specializing in areas like DevOps or security, depending on your interests and the company's needs.

Location: Niagara Falls, ON (Onsite)

Company: Confidential (via SuiteSource Staffing)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

SuiteSource is proud to partner with a leading, high-growth industry innovator in the Niagara Falls region to find a talented Mid-Senior NetSuite Developer .

This is a "pure development" role designed for a technical expert who thrives on building custom solutions from the ground up. You will work in high-visibility proximity to the management team, serving as the technical architect for their NetSuite environment. This role is perfect for a developer who wants to move away from pure maintenance and into a position where they can influence system architecture and drive business efficiency through code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pure Development: Design, develop, and deploy scalable NetSuite solutions using SuiteScript (2.0/2.1), including User Event, Client, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, and Restlet scripts.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to translate business goals into technical requirements and high-performance system features.
  • System Architecture: Lead the technical design of complex integrations and internal workflows to optimize the ERP ecosystem.
  • Advanced Support & Maintenance: Maintain the health of the NetSuite environment, troubleshooting complex script errors and optimizing system performance.
  • Cross-Functional IT Support: Assist with broader IT development projects and system integrations outside of NetSuite as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on NetSuite Development experience (Mid-Senior level).
  • Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in SuiteScript (2.0/2.1) and JavaScript.
  • Platform Knowledge: Strong experience with SuiteTalk, SuiteFlow, and SuiteBuilder.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience in NetSuite Administration and a broad background in other IT development (Web services, APIs, SQL, or other ERP systems) is a significant plus.
  • Problem Solver: Proven ability to build "clean code" solutions for complex business problems.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical management and stakeholders.
Work Environment & Requirements
  • Onsite Presence: This is a fully onsite position based in Niagara Falls, ON . We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, especially when working closely with leadership.
  • Relocation: We are actively seeking the best talent across Canada and are open to candidates willing to relocate to the beautiful Niagara region.
  • Culture: Join a fast-paced, creative, and energetic environment where your technical contributions directly impact the company's global footprint.
How to Apply

If you are a NetSuite expert looking for a role where you can truly own the development lifecycle and work directly with decision-makers, we want to hear from you.

Apply via SuiteSource today to be fast-tracked for an interview.
