Job description

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Take complete ownership of business initiatives from inception to production. Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to define scope, estimate effort, and identify technical dependencies. 

  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards 

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, resilient, and secure technical designs 

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation 

  • Define, maintain, and promote robust architectural patterns, coding standards, and best practices for large-scale, high-throughput enterprise web applications. 

  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions 

  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary 

  • Conduct rigorous code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level developers, and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence 

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. 

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering and application development, with 5+ years in Technical Lead capacity.  

  • Deep, authoritative knowledge of core Java, including multi-threading, concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning 

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot. 

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, enterprise integration patterns and web application security risks. 

  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Database, including advanced SQL, PL/SQL development, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database schema design. 

  • Experience in implementing and managing distributed caching solutions such as Hazelcast or Redis to optimize application performance, manage session state, and reduce database load  

  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate 

  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills 

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience 

  • Master’s degree preferred
