What is a mid level developer?

Mid Level Developers are software professionals who have gained several years of experience beyond entry-level positions and are proficient in coding, debugging, and collaborating on projects. They possess a strong understanding of programming languages, frameworks, and software development processes. Mid Level Developers often take on more responsibility than junior developers, such as mentoring newer team members, contributing to architectural decisions, and ensuring code quality. They are expected to work independently on tasks, communicate effectively with team members, and deliver reliable solutions to complex problems.

Mid Level Developers have more experience, can handle complex tasks independently, and contribute significantly to projects, whereas Junior Developers are still learning foundational skills and typically work under supervision.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mid level developer?

To thrive as a Mid Level Developer, you need solid programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, along with a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, integrated development environments (IDEs), and frameworks such as React or Spring Boot is typically required. Effective problem-solving, teamwork, and strong communication skills help you collaborate and adapt to project needs. These abilities ensure you can deliver reliable code, work smoothly with colleagues, and contribute to successful software projects.

Job description

We are seeking mid amp; high-level CNC Machinists to join our busy and highly skilled team at our Admiral Facility, where we produce components for our fusion and fintube machines. This isnโ€™t your average machine shop jobโ€”our machinists work on complex, high-precision parts using some of the most advanced equipment in the industry.
If you thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments, and take pride in setup-heavy, precision machining, this role is your next move. Reliability, flexibility, and a problem-solving mindset are critical to success in this position.
Machines Youโ€™ll Work On
2nd Shift
  • Large Okuma VTL โ€“ 5-axis vertical turning lathe, OSP controls (High skill)
  • HAAS VF-9 โ€“ Vertical 3-axis mill, HAAS controls (Mid to High skill)
  • MAZAK e-1250 โ€“ 5-axis VTL with 8-pallet system, SMOOTH AI controls (Mid to High skill)
  • MAZAK Versatech V140/360 โ€“ Large bridge mill, 5-axis, SMOOTH AI controls (Mid to High skill)
3rd Shift
  • Large SNK RBF 250F2 Bridge Mill โ€“ 5-axis, Fanuc controls (Mid to High skill)
  • Large Mitsubishi MVR35 Bridge Mill โ€“ (Mid to High skill)
  • Doosan HP 5100 (500mm) โ€“ 12-pallet horizontal mill, dedicated setup, Fanuc controls (Mid skill)
  • MAZAK Integrex i500 โ€“ 5-axis twin spindle mill/turn, SMOOTH AI controls (High skill)
  • MAZAK e-1250 โ€“ 5-axis VTL with 8-pallet system, SMOOTH AI controls (Mid to High skill)
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Set up, operate, and maintain multi-axis CNC machines with minimal supervision.
  • Load and secure parts, fixtures, and tools accurately on machines.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD amp;T specs, and machining instructions.
  • Perform machine setups, including:
    • Loading fixtures and tools
    • Selecting and loading the correct program
    • Setting work coordinates and tool offsets
    • Sizing in first article using measurement tools
  • Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators to ensure parts meet strict specifications.
  • Identify and select correct materials for each job.
  • Troubleshoot operational and programming issues in real-time.
  • Own your work centerโ€”maintaining high quality, speed, and organization.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • 3+ years CNC machining experience, including multi-axis machines.
  • Experience running HAAS vertical mills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and act on blueprints and part tolerances.
  • Ability to meet assigned run times and respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Proven track record of reliability and accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with pride in craftsmanship.
What You Get
  • Climate-controlled environment at our Admiral Facility.
  • Competitive wages with plenty of opportunity for growth.
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.
  • Sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
  • Work alongside a tight-knit team.
  • Access to some of the most advanced machines and challenging work in the shop.
Physical Requirements
Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines and checking procedures.
Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
Safety-Sensitive Designation:
  • Jobs which involve one or more tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others are considered safety-sensitive. This position is safety-sensitive because, in addition to the essential functions, it also involves performing one or more of the following essential tasks or duties:
  • The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous material
  • The operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery or power tools
  • Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage
  • The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including, but not limited to, electric, gas, and water utilities, power generation or distribution.
  • The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component.
