Job description

Mission
  • We empower healing for individuals who were sexually abused as children or adolescents through retreats, support groups, and online education and resources. 
  • We educate and engage parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through community and online resources. 
  • We drive awareness to motivate individuals to take action against child sexual abuse. 
Responsibilities

The Education and Program Development Specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining high quality educational content for Saprea’s healing and prevention services. This role involves a strong focus on synthesizing academic and clinical research to create accessible resources for a global audience. This position is an excellent fit for an individual who is passionate about using their experience in writing, research, and adult education to raise awareness, help survivors of sexual abuse find healing, and protect the next generation of children from the impacts of abuse.

Essential responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Help plan, implement, and maintain Saprea’s education strategies and contribute to other organization areas of focus.
  • Ensure that education resources and methodologies utilize best practices for self-directed learning.
  • Create digital resources and programs for parents to use with their children to reduce vulnerability of childhood sexual abuse.
  • Create digital resources and programs for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse to assist them in their healing.
  • Brainstorm, create, revise, and edit external-facing content including marketing, clinical, and public relations materials
  • Conceptualize and write research-based content for books and workbooks with other stakeholders.
  • Research and remain updated on current science, trends, and best practices related to healing and prevention.
  • Help ensure that Saprea teams are using well-researched and well-sourced materials.
  • Develop well-defined research briefs centered on topics pertaining to child sexual abuse prevention.
  • Build and deliver companywide presentations that educate staff on current research and trends in healing and prevention.
  • Assist in Saprea’s outcomes research, program evaluation, and analysis, as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all HIPAA, healthcare, and risk mitigation policies.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.
Position Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, social sciences, or related field.
  • Proven experience in generating and deploying educational content.
  • Proven experience in collaborative writing projects.
  • High familiarity with academic and/or clinical research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong sense of ownership and prioritization.
  • Preferred: Graduate level research and writing experience and/or training; 2-5 years in non-profit programs and/or administration; experience with content creation within digital education modalities; 2-3 years of copywriting and editing.
