Job description

Why Fishbowl?
Fishbowl is the leading provider of manufacturing and inventory management software for growing businesses across the U.S. and beyond. Backed by Diversis Capital, we're building a modern cloud platform and intuitive user experiences that power operations, simplify complexity, and unlock growth for thousands of small and mid-sized businesses.
We're not just designing features-we're reimagining how warehouse managers, inventory leads, and operations teams interact with software on the floor, on the road, and at their desk. If you're passionate about simplifying workflows through clean, scalable design and want your work to matter to real people in the real world, Fishbowl is the place.
What will you do
You will help bring our brand to life by writing clear, human copy that supports teams across the organization. While this role sits within Marketing, your work will span multiple functions - including Sales, Customer Success, Support, and HR - helping ensure everything we communicate feels consistent, approachable, and on-brand.
Working from well-defined briefs and brand guidelines, you'll turn ideas into effective copy across a wide range of channels while continuing to build your craft.
How You'll Contribute
  • Write and edit copy for marketing campaigns, lifecycle emails, digital experiences, social content, and sales enablement materials
  • Support Sales, Customer Success, Support, and HR with clear, customer-friendly copy for presentations, documentation, internal communications, and customer-facing assets
  • Translate complex product or internal concepts into simple, human language for a variety of audiences
  • Adapt copy for regional or audience nuances while maintaining a consistent global brand voice
  • Support campaign and content development by executing clear, well-crafted copy that brings ideas to life
  • Balance quality and speed while managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Apply feedback thoughtfully to improve craft, clarity, and consistency over time

The Team & How You'll Work
This role is part of the Marketing team and works closely with partners across the organization, including Sales, Customer Success, Support, and HR. You'll also collaborate with our global in-house agency, The Hub. You'll be supported by clear creative direction, briefs, and brand frameworks, with opportunities to learn from more senior creatives and cross-functional partners.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in a liberal arts field such as English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of professional copywriting experience, ideally in a tech platform or other product-based business
  • Comfort using modern tools - including AI-assisted writing and research tools - to improve efficiency and support high-quality work
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong writing fundamentals across short- and long-form copy
  • Ability to follow creative briefs and brand guidelines while adding clarity, polish, and creativity
  • Comfort partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and adapting tone for different audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and organization across multiple concurrent projects
  • Interest or experience in tech, SaaS, or B2B storytelling is a plus
  • As you read this, you already have five ideas for how to make this job description better - and you're smiling a little as you think about them. That's exactly the kind of thinking we value here.

Working Style & Flexibility
  • This is a 30-hour-per-week hourly role designed with flexibility in mind
  • We know life doesn't fit neatly into a 9-5, and we're thoughtful about how work fits alongside family and other commitments
  • Some in-person time is expected, especially early on, to build relationships, collaborate with teammates, and learn our product and business
  • In-office time will be planned around your availability, not the other way around
  • Over time, in-office expectations will naturally decrease - potentially to one day every couple of weeks - and this is flexible and negotiable

Benefits
  • Flexible PTO with no accrual needed allowing employees the time they need away from work
  • Multiple healthcare options to choose from including PTO and HSA options with matching company contributions to an employee's HSA account
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401K matching
  • A team environment where people want to work from the office, but enjoy the freedom to work from anywhere and much more
