Unit Overview

The Advanced Practice Nurse assumes responsibility for advanced nursing practice within a clinical specialty. In consultation with other members of the health care team, strengthens nursing practice and promotes positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities include clinical practice, staff and patient education, and research. The Advanced Practice Nurse serves as a significant member of the multidisciplinary health care team in the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.


Short Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Practice Physician to join our Cooper Care Alliance team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all ages, focusing on prevention, wellness, and the management of chronic and acute conditions in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care to a diverse patient population.
  • Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans, including prescribing medications and coordinating referrals.
  • Promote preventive care and health education to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health, and specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Education Requirements

Graduate from master’s level program. 

Graduate from an NLN approved school of nursing.


Experience Required

Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient care setting preferred.

Experience with electronic health records (e.g., Epic).


License/ Certification Requirements
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of NJ.
  • DEA license and current BLS/ACLS certification.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Interest in population health, quality improvement, or teaching.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent and equitable care.
