Perficient's Microsoft Cloud Business Unit is investing heavily in Microsoft Fabric services and governance offerings. We are seeking a Solutions Architect, Microsoft Fabric to serve as the senior technical authority for our Fabric practice.
In this role, you will define the strategic roadmap for Fabric based data platform services, lead enterprise engagements spanning capacity migration, Purview driven governance, and tenant wide adoption, and partner with sales and alliance teams to shape pursuits and craft SOWs. You will also mentor a distributed team of architects, engineers, and analysts while building out Perficient's Fabric center of excellence. Candidates with broader Azure cloud platform experience, particularly in governance, landing zones, and IAM, are a strong plus.
Responsibilities
Technical Delivery & Solution Architecture
  • Design and lead enterprise Microsoft Fabric migrations and implementations, from architecture through delivery
  • Serve as the senior technical authority on Fabric engagements, setting direction on architecture and best practices
  • Lead discovery and assessment workshops to define current state, pain points, and target architecture
  • Produce architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and release plans that guide phased delivery
  • Guide agile delivery teams through sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative releases
  • Remove technical impediments, manage delivery risk, and uphold quality through design reviews
  • Define reusable architecture patterns, standards, and templates that scale across client engagements

Presales & Consulting
  • Partner with sales and account teams to shape and scope new Fabric pursuits
  • Develop level of effort estimates, staffing models, and SOW language for proposals
  • Build POVs, prototypes, and demos that showcase Fabric capabilities to prospective clients
  • Deliver client facing presentations and technical positioning alongside Microsoft account teams
  • Support contract and pricing conversations with technical input and solution recommendations
  • Participate in executive briefings and industry events to represent the practice

Internal Enablement & Practice Growth
  • Mentor and coach architects, engineers, and analysts across the Fabric practice
  • Contribute to internal training paths, playbooks, and reusable IP that raise delivery quality
  • Track the Microsoft roadmap and emerging Fabric capabilities, recommending how offerings should evolve
  • Capture lessons learned from engagements and feed them back into templates and methodology
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, tooling, and team effectiveness

Qualifications
Required
  • 10 to 15 years architecting enterprise data analytics solutions, with 5 or more years delivering Azure based modern data platforms
  • Deep, hands-on mastery of Microsoft Fabric, including Data Engineering, Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI
  • Proven track record designing tenant level governance frameworks, including workspace management, capacity planning, and security
  • Successful leadership of at least 5 full lifecycle Fabric, Synapse, or Databricks modern data platform programs, from discovery through optimization
  • Consulting experience: presales estimation, SOW creation, team structure definition, and executive level presentations
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, and data governance best practices
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences
  • Experience mentoring globally distributed teams and cultivating practice communities
  • Required certification: DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred)

Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Additional Fabric certifications, such as DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate or PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • Experience migrating from Synapse, Databricks, or legacy BI platforms into Fabric
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for Fabric assets using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Broader Azure cloud platform experience, including governance, landing zones, and IAM/RBAC
  • Multi-cloud exposure (AWS, GCP)
