The Senior Consultant or Manager role within Centric's Cleveland Business Unit is a business-focused consulting position centered on solving client problems, improving processes, enabling strategy, and guiding organizations through change. While this role is primarily business oriented, familiarity with Microsoft technologies-and the ability to understand how they support business outcomes-is considered a valuable differentiator.

Senior Consultants are expected to:

  • Lead key workstreams within consulting engagements
  • Bring structure, clarity, and analytical rigor to complex business challenges
  • Serve as trusted advisors to business and IT stakeholders
  • Drive meaningful outcomes through strong communication, facilitation, and problem solving skills

This role is ideal for individuals who excel at understanding business needs, designing practical solutions, and collaborating across diverse teams in dynamic client environments. 

In this role, you will: 

Client Delivery & Execution

  • Lead or support business-focused consulting engagements such as strategy activation, process improvement, operating model design, organizational change, and business case development.
  • Conduct hands-on consulting activities including research, current-state assessment, stakeholder interviews, requirements gathering, process mapping, journey mapping, and insights synthesis.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, working sessions, and collaborative meetings to align stakeholders and advance engagement objectives.
  • Support project management activities including work planning, status reporting, risk/issue tracking, dependency management, and client communications.
  • Translate business needs into actionable recommendations, solution options, and implementation plans.
  • Where appropriate, connect business needs to enabling technologies, including Microsoft productivity and collaboration tools.

Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and credibility.
  • Understand client goals, business drivers, and organizational dynamics to provide relevant guidance and insights.
  • Present findings, recommendations, roadmaps, and business insights to business and executive stakeholders.
  • Guide clients through change by applying Centric's proven approaches to communication, stakeholder readiness, and adoption.
  • Support clients in navigating ambiguity, making informed decisions, and staying aligned to strategic objectives.

Business Development (Light Expectation)

  • Contribute to proposals, pursuit discussions, and solution development for new and existing clients.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and add value through additional services.
  • Support the creation of thought leadership, case studies, models, or reusable consulting assets.

Practice Leadership & Cleveland BU Contribution

  • Support Cleveland BU initiatives such as recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, DEI, community involvement, and culture-building.
  • Participate in internal communities focused on consulting excellence, facilitation, business analysis, and organizational change.
  • Demonstrate and reinforce Centric's culture of collaboration, humility, authenticity, and balance.

Career & Performance Management

  • Maintain an annual Personal Strategic Plan (PSP) outlining development goals, consulting behaviors, and performance expectations.
  • Meet regularly with your feedback manager and BU leadership to discuss progress and development.
  • Demonstrate expected behaviors across Delivery, Business Development, and Practice Leadership. 

Who You Are: 

  • 5-8+ years of relevant business, consulting, or industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading workstreams or significant components of client initiatives.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem solving skills.
  • Proven experience in facilitation, meeting leadership, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, cross-functional, and often ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong professional presence, emotional intelligence, and sound judgment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business consulting, business analysis, operational excellence, change management, or strategic planning.
  • Consulting or professional services experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft workplace and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, M365) and how they support business processes.
  • Experience supporting proposals, pursuit conversations, or solution development.
  • Understanding of project management fundamentals, delivery methodologies, or PMO practices.
  • Experience working alongside technology teams implementing Microsoft or other enterprise solutions.
  • Familiarity working with Microsoft account teams and working within the Microsoft ecosystem in Northeast Ohio.

Optional Microsoft Certifications (Not Required, but Beneficial)

  • These credentials help demonstrate foundational understanding of how Microsoft tools support business transformation:
    • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS900)
    • Azure Fundamentals (AZ900)
    • Power Platform Fundamentals (PL900)
    • AI Fundamentals (AI900)
    • Any applicable Microsoft "Associate" level certification related to productivity, business applications, or collaboration

Helpful Microsoft Application Experience (Optional)

  • Business-focused exposure to:
    • Microsoft Teams and governance concepts
    • SharePoint as a collaboration and information management platform
    • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) from a business process or solution framing perspective
    • Copilot for Microsoft 365 and other emerging AI driven productivity tools
    • These skills are not required, but they strengthen a consultant's ability to connect business needs to enabling technologies.
