Job description

Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

First Coast Security provides comprehensive security solutions including armed and unarmed guarding, detection technologies, physical security systems, and other security technology services across diverse industries. We operate in 30+ states and are experiencing significant growth, building out an internal IT function to support our expanding technology footprint.

We're looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer to join our internal IT team at our Jacksonville headquarters. Reporting to the IT Coordinator, you'll run the day-to-day administration and health of our fully cloud-based Microsoft 365 environment and serve as a senior technical resource on the team.

This is an upper mid-level role for someone who works with real autonomy and goes deep. You'll handle complex configuration and troubleshooting, support our IT Engineers on escalated issues, and help drive and enforce our Microsoft security and configuration standards. If you enjoy working hands-on in a modern cloud stack, solving hard problems, and helping build out a maturing IT operation, this is a strong fit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and maintain the configuration and overall health of the Microsoft 365 tenant under the direction of the IT Coordinator
  • Administer Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online
  • Manage the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and related administrative portals
  • Support and maintain Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 security
  • Manage users, groups, licensing, permissions, policies, and access
  • Support IT Engineers on complex and escalated support tickets
  • Troubleshoot escalated Microsoft 365 and cloud-related issues, including tenant-level problems
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain Microsoft 365 security, governance, and configuration standards
  • Build and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation to streamline IT operations
  • Monitor Microsoft service health and respond to tenant-level issues
  • Document configurations, procedures, and IT standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate IT operations

Experience

  • 4-7 years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online
  • Strong experience with Entra ID / Azure AD
  • Strong experience with Exchange Online
  • Experience with Intune and endpoint management
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance
  • PowerShell scripting and automation experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across the Microsoft cloud stack
  • Ability to work independently with strong autonomy and minimal oversight
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, or similar)
  • Experience administering multiple or separate M365 tenants
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender and Purview
  • Exposure to Conditional Access and Zero Trust configuration
  • Experience supporting a distributed, multi-site workforce

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in office settings
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • May require occasional standing, walking, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

At First Coast Security Solutions, you’ll be part of a team supporting mission-critical federal operations that truly make a difference. We foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and pride in doing the job right, while providing opportunities for growth and ownership. If you’re looking to contribute to something meaningful and take pride in your work, you’ll fit right in. We are committed to supporting our personnel with the training, resources, and leadership they need to succeed every day.
