Job Summary:

As a member of the RF Microelectronics (RFM) Department, the individual would provide process and manufacturing engineering support for Raytheon’s microelectronics foundry in Andover, MA. The role of process code engineer is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing execution to fabricate and deliver compound semiconductor wafers to internal, DoD, or external customers.

The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of semiconductor tools, processing techniques, microelectronic circuit testing, and circuit design with individual expertise in one or more of these areas. The candidate will use statistical process control methods and lean manufacturing methods to reduce rework and scrap and increase efficiency in the process line.  The ability to work well in small, cross-functional teams is essential.

What You Will Do:

  • High degree of hands-on engineering work with presence on the manufacturing floor (fab cleanroom)
  • Dispositioning wafers (critical thinking to determine scrap, rework, accept)
  • Reviewing in-line electrical data trends and process control metrics
  • Investigating scrap and rework events with root cause tools and approaches
  • Maintaining technical documentation (recipes, out-of-control action plans, FMEAs)
  • Collaborating with the operations, quality, and engineering staff in dynamic team settings
  • Managing changing projects and priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers or other project leads.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.(STEM)
  • A minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience with semiconductor processing tools and techniques including photolithography, wet and dry etching, metals evaporation, metrology tools, and/or automated inspection systems
  • Experience with semiconductor device structures, their electrical characteristics & Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Experience in statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Understanding of III-V compound semiconductor devices particularly Gallium Nitride and Gallium Arsenide HEMTs and SLS IR detectors
  • Experience with characterizing, understanding, and improving semiconductor device quality and reliability
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas and data effectively
  • Ability to lead and coordinate technical projects with cross-functional teams.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
