Job Description

We are looking to leverage advances in technology to bring new experiences and greater value to our customers. As a lead microservices developer you will work to build our Cloud Platform, designing and developing web services, device IoT services, and REST APIs that support our wireless audio ecosystem of products. The ideal candidate has lived in the fast-paced world of cloud-scale web services and deeply understands user identity and authentication processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a small team of highly skilled microservice developers

- Build a highly scalable and high-performance architecture supporting single sign-on across many applications; social login; session management; and user profiles

- Design and develop back-end data services and REST APIs for user profiles and other application support services

- Collaborate with front-end and mobile app development teams on user-facing features and services

- Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks

- Focus on innovating new and better ways to create solutions that add value and amaze the end user, with a penchant for simple elegant design in every aspect from data structures to code to UI and systems architecture

- Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups, and understand trends and opportunities that ensure we are using the best techniques and tools

- Work with other software leads on developing testing processes and frameworks

- Document the work you do, especially APIs that you create


Qualifications:

- Must have experience with identity frameworks such as OAuth

- Expert knowledge of dynamic server coding environments such as Python, PHP, Ruby, or Node.js

- Hands on experience using and developing REST APIs

- Working knowledge of HTTP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, WebSockets

- Working knowledge of NoSQL database systems (Mongo, Cassandra, HBase, BigTable, Redis)

- Production experience creating a NoSQL schema and managing scaled access to a NoSQL data store

- Familiarity with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, MQTT, ZeroMQ)

- Cloud-based distributed application scaling & data processing in the cloud

- Code development in an Agile environment


Highly desirable but not required skills include:

- Experience with cloud computing APIs (Amazon Web Services preferred)

- Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet or Chef

- Mobile application development experience is a plus


Experience

- 5 or more years working in software development for cloud, web, or mobile applications

- 2 or more years working with identity and authentication systems such as OAuth

Qualifications

REST APIs,  frameworks,  Python, PHP, Ruby, Node.js, HTTP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, Web Sockets
