What is a Micro Motion job?

A Micro Motion job typically refers to roles at Micro Motion, a brand under Emerson specializing in precision flow and density measurement technology. Jobs in this field can range from engineering and technical support to sales and manufacturing. Employees may work on developing and maintaining Coriolis flow meters and other advanced measurement instruments. These roles often require expertise in instrumentation, automation, and fluid dynamics.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Micro Motion position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Micro Motion Field Service Engineer, you need a technical background in instrumentation, process control, or mechanical/electrical engineering, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with flow measurement devices, calibration tools, and software such as Emerson's Micro Motion Smart Meter Verification is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and adaptability are essential soft skills for fieldwork and client interactions. These skills are important to ensure accurate equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, as well as to build strong, trust-based relationships with customers.

What are some common challenges faced by Micro Motion Field Service Engineers in their daily work?

Micro Motion Field Service Engineers often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting complex flow instrumentation in diverse industrial settings and adapting quickly to varying site conditions. They frequently work independently at customer locations, which requires resourcefulness and strong communication to coordinate with both plant operators and technical support teams. Time management is crucial, especially when handling multiple service calls or urgent equipment issues. By being prepared for unexpected scenarios and maintaining ongoing training, engineers can effectively meet these daily demands and deliver high-quality service to clients.

Job description

What is Kalshi?
Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history, is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.
We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.
  • Our vision: well... build the largest financial market on the planet.
  • Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets.

Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.
Role Roadmap
We're looking for a Motion Designer to own motion across both our brand and product. On the brand side that means campaigns, social, launches, and ads. On the product side it means UI animation, micro-interactions, onboarding flows, and the motion design system that keeps everything consistent.
You'll work closely with design, product, and marketing and have end-to-end ownership over how Kalshi uses motion, from concept through engineering handoff.
What You'll Do
  • Design and produce motion content for Kalshi's brand: social, campaigns, product launches, ads, and anything else that needs to move
  • Own in-app animation and interaction design: micro-interactions, onboarding flows, loading states, transitions, and UI motion that makes the product feel polished and intentional
  • Build and export production-ready animations for engineering using Lottie and other handoff formats
  • Develop and maintain Kalshi's motion language, creating a system of timing, easing, and animation principles that keep everything consistent across brand and product
  • Collaborate with product designers and engineers to ensure motion is implemented accurately and performantly
  • Concept and execute motion work independently from brief to final delivery
What You Bring
  • A portfolio that shows range, ideally including both brand motion and product/UI animation
  • Strong design sensibility across timing, easing, typography, and composition
  • Ability to work across two very different contexts (expressive brand work and functional product motion) without conflating the two
  • Comfortable owning work end-to-end with minimal direction
  • Experience collaborating with engineers on animation implementation
NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure
Salary Range: $180,000 to $300,000 annually plus equity and benefits. This salary range is based on the current available market data, and represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy and few titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles. Should you have compensation expectations that exceed these bands, we'd love to hear from you and would welcome you to reach out to further discuss.
Our Culture
Meritocracy is at our core, and we value people who take ownership and figure (usually hard) things out. We dream big. We love our craft deeply and are proud of what we put out in the world. We are committed to our vision of building something big... but also useful: a product that brings more truth through the power of markets.
Kalshians are Kalshi's most important asset: we pick Kalshians carefully, so we trust them fully on day 1.
Commitment to Equal Opportunity
Kalshi is committed to creating a culture of inclusion and belonging, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe it is our collective responsibility to uphold these values and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to join us in our mission. All qualified applicants will be treated with respect and receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniform service, veteran status, age, or any other protected characteristic per federal, state, or local law. If you are passionate about what you do and want to use your talents to support our mission and values, we'd love to hear from you.
