AUTOMOTIVE PARTS DRIVER

THE POSITION: The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Current, Valid, Driver's license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Required.
  • Chauffeur's license
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • DOT Medical Card or Ability to obtain one.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Problem solving.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One year in a vehicle parts department preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Deliver parts and equipment to customers and vendors.
  • Pick up parts and equipment from customers and vendors, to be coordinated with the Parts Manager, Inventory Control Clerk, Parts Counter people, or Shipping and Receiving Clerk before leaving.
  • Complete a log at the time of delivery and request recipient's signature.
  • Unload truck each night. Turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
  • Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Maintain the parts delivery vehicle; ensure it is clean and operating properly.
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
  • Required to stand, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, take and hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
