Manufacturing Project Manager / 2.5-month Contract / San Jose, CA On-Site / W2-only

Summary:

Qualify an alternate PCB base material to ensure supply continuity, cost optimization, and/or performance improvements. Deliver a production-ready alternate PCB material fully verified and qualified for mass production.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end program.
  • Drive with stakeholders on material selection, stack-up, design verification, test builds, qualification testing, material planning and mass production release.
  • Program planning, requirements alignment, supplier coordination, design verification, build execution, qualification, change control, risk and schedule management.
  • Gates - Work on a phase gate approach from planning to release.
  • Deliverables - Charter, material matrix, stack-up, DFM sign-off, build plan, qualification report, ECO / PCN (Product Change Notification), MP (Materials Project) release.
  • Success Metrics - On-time qualification, quality targets met, supplier readiness, stable production ramp.
  • Key stakeholders - Hardware CAD Design, DFM, Product Engineering, Signal Integrity, Reliability, Suppliers, NPI, HVM (High-Volume Manufacturing) team.

Required Skills:

  • 8-10+ years of experience.
  • Must be able to navigate with multiple stakeholders from different company departments and tie the project together.
  • Understand composites, metals, elements, conductivity, prototyping, manufacturability, board houses, PLC/lifecycle of products to market.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal team, vendors, partners,...skills required.
  • Must be good with documentation and data input into a PDF, PLM, or DB system.
  • Engineering Degree such as a BSEE, BSME or related degree preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of PCB fab and materials.
  • Must be efficient with project management.
  • Must be able to complete the project in a timely manner working typically 8-hour days.





Pay for this position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. As a contractor you may also be eligible for health benefits such as health, dental, and vision as well as access to a 401K plan.
